FINIS Inc., the international swimming company that designs industry-first, highest-quality products to help swimmers of all ages and levels, today announced a new partnership with world champion swimmer Nathan Adrian centered around the FINIS Smart Goggle.
The FINIS Smart Goggle is a wearable swim goggle with a heads-up display that enables swimmers to see their splits, set times, rest times and other results in real-time while keeping a free field of view during their swims. The FINIS Smart Goggle, which consists of a removable and replaceable module, is interchangeable and features a corresponding smartphone app that allows you to track your in-water training.
“I have been using the FINIS Smart Goggle for over a year now and love them,” said Adrian. “The ability to see my splits and finish times combined with the head position and breathing metrics really keeps me accountable for my training efforts.
Adrian, 34, has competed at three Olympic Games and won eight medals, including individual gold in the 100 freestyle in 2012. He last competed on the elite level at the 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials, where he placed third in the 50 free and finished just outside the 100 free final. He swam at last week’s U.S. Masters Nationals in Irvine, Calif.
In support of the partnership, Adrian invited the FINIS Smart Goggle team to his AC Swim Club in San Rafael, CA to share how he’s incorporating the Smart Goggle in training for himself and his age group swimmers.
“As a coach, the time spent teaching intervals and zeroing in on pace times has decreased dramatically,” added Adrian. “The head position videos allow us to observe their head position and discuss adjustments to help improve their technique. And for young swimmers, we use the time tracking as a gamification approach to help keep the training fun, which they really enjoy.”
